Leadership Rowan’s 30th anniversary class takes shape with applications due May 20 – Salisbury Post
SALISBURY — The Rowan County Chamber of Commerce is accepting applications for the Rowan Leadership Class of 2022-23. For 30 years, the Rowan Leadership program has ensured the most influential and esteemed leaders in the community are aware of the issues, well-networked and passionate about the region’s success.
“I am delighted to announce that we are currently accepting applications for our 30th Rowan Leadership Class. This is a fantastic opportunity for our Rowan County area residents to learn detailed information about our county and take a peek “behind the curtain,” if you will. We are extremely proud of the history and success of Leadership Rowan with over 725 graduates from the program,” said Nick Means (F&M Bank) and Chairman of the Steering Committee.
Leadership Rowan is a transformational experience for participants and the organizations they serve. Class members dedicate one day a month to exploring the community and discovering what makes it unique, including government, education, business, human needs, and the arts. Throughout the nine-month program, participants participate in exclusive tours and get hands-on experiences, all with local leaders who tackle our community’s biggest challenges every day. Armed with new knowledge, connections, and perspectives, Leadership Rowan graduates are ready to take their place as effective community leaders.
“This experience has been an ideal balance of information, engagement and welcome nostalgia. Armed with a renewed respect and awareness of the many hidden and unassuming gems this county has to offer, I am inspired, empowered and eager to be a valued member of this great community. Lead load accepted!” said Terri Stevenson of Livingstone College.
“Rowan’s leadership has given me a sense of community that I never would have known without participating in the program! I have found two local non-profit organizations (Communities in Schools and Prevent Child Abuse Rowan) that I will continue to advocate throughout my time in Rowan County. I enjoyed not only the experiences, but the incredible group of people I had the pleasure of meeting,” said Daniel Potts of Potts Financial Services, Inc. .
Many of the most dynamic leaders from all fields apply for the nine-month experience each year and only 30 are selected to make up a class representative of the community. Applications are open until 20 May 2022. The course will start in August 2022 and end in May 2023. The full program and application details are available at www.rowanchamber.com.
